Chaos has erupted in Washington DC this afternoon as lawmakers were preparing to certify the Electoral College victory of President-Elect Joe Biden.

Prior to Congress meeting to certify the vote, President Donald Trump held a rally in proximity to the Capital building. During that rally, the President rallied the crowd and stating that he will not concede the elections. At the conclusion of this rally, the supporters started moving towards the Capital building.

At that point, the Trump protesters stormed the US Capitol, while the US House and Senate debated the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory. At that point, US Lawmakers were evacuated from the chambers, and reportedly given gas masks while being taken to secure locations. While being evacuated, Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy denounced the violence and protestors:

In the video, Cassidy said

"There are people who have violently entered the United States Capital, and are attempting to disrupt what is going on. Which is supposed to be the peaceful transition of power. This is wrong. It is absolutely wrong. It is un-American, period. They should stop, period. This is about our country, it is not about hooligans."
