Starting pitcher Caleb Olson (6-2) did his job by only giving up three hits, and two earned runs in five solid innings of work before a blister took him out of the contest in the 6th inning with the bases loaded. Olson at one point took a no-hitter into the 4th inning before it was broken up by a two out single.

LSUS got on the board early with a Brandon Cooksey RBI single which scored Reed Lavallee, and a wild pitch that sent Ridge Gonsoulin home.

Catcher Reed Lavallee added another run to the scoreboard when he launched his first collegiate home run to right center field. This was part of a 4-for-5 night for the catcher, who was a triple shy of the cycle. At that point the Pilots had a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 5th, Kade Billeaudeux sent home two runs after his RBI triple, which extended the lead to 5-0.

The next batter Manny Estrada, sent home Billeaudeux via his RBI single.

Two batters later, third baseman Kym Barthel singled in a run to give the Pilots a 7-0 advantage.

A near bullpen collapse from the Pilots allowed the Gents to score two runs in both the 6th and 7th innings.

In the top of the night, Cade Bowen shut down Centenary in order to send LSUS to their second consecutive victory over the Gents this season.

Next up for the Pilots (36-15), they will play in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament this Saturday night against the Texas Wesleyan Rams at Pilot Field at 6:30 p.m.

For the SCAC Division Champion Gents (24-13), they will begin play in the SCAC tournament in Georgetown, Texas on Thursday night. Their opponent is TBD.
