Gents’ Cole Thompson Given Pitcher of the Week Honors

A huge accolade was awarded to Centenary Gents right-handed pitcher Cole Thompson as he was honored as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Cole Thompson becomes the second pitcher from the Gents to be named Pitcher of the Week after Layton Tromba was given the honor last week.

Thompson received the accolade after throwing a complete game victory over the UT Tyler Patriots on the road, in which the Gents won 6-3.

In the contest, Thompson struck out seven batters and only allowed one run.

This season, catcher Ben Schweinfurth, outfielder Tyler Clakely, Sr., and infielder Craig Littleman have went onto win SCAC Players of the Week awards.

The Gents return to Shehee Stadium in Shreveport on Saturday, April 13 at 1 p.m.
