Northwest Louisiana Puts Five Teams in LHSAA Football Championships

Northwest Louisiana will send 5 teams to the state football championships starting Thursday at the Mercedes Benz Superdome.

Parkway had a narrow 28-27 victory over Covington on Friday and will play for the school’s first ever state title against 5A top seed Acadiana on Saturday.

Haynesville and Many each advanced this weekend and will play for titles in 1A and 2A respectively.

Byrd and Calvary booked their tickets to the dome a week ago and will each play for one of the Select Division championships. This means that two teams from District 1-5A could win state titles, in Byrd and Parkway.

Byrd will play against Rummel on Thursday in a game that you’ll hear on 1130 the Tiger.
