It had been two weeks since LSU ace Aaron Nola pitched in a game. Head coach Paul Mainieri admitted, he thinks the layoff may have left Nola slightly off with his command. Still, the sophomore pitched great... but it wasn't enough. Arkansas won 4-1 behind a pitching gem from their own ace.

Nola threw seven innings, giving up only one run and striking out eight.  Arkansas' Ryne Staneck  was excellent for the Razorbacks, giving up only one run in eight innings work.  LSU just couldn't capitalize offensively when they had opportunities.

LSU now plays in the SEC tournament loser's bracket.  The Tigers play Friday at 3:30pm against Alabama.  LSU beat Alabama earlier in the tournament, today's game will be an elimination game.

Ryan Eades will start for LSU.
