Over the weekend, many college athletes came to Shreveport/Bossier to compete in the USA Wakeboarding collegiate championships on the Red River. But what would anything involving myself be without something crazy happening?

On Friday, John Zdeblick, a student from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and defending champion from last year's USA Wakeboarding Collegiate Nationals, gave 1130 The Tiger an exclusive look of what tricks were up his sleeve from over the weekend.

When asked about the craziest event to occur over the length of his career, he replied: "I saw once when someone tried to fully tackle [a fellow wakeboarder] while riding. It got pretty hairy quickly."

John also gave us a sneak peek at what tricks he had up his sleeve:

After shooting the video above, the boat we were on crashed into a sandbar on the Red River. Along with a couple of other media personalities, we jumped into the river and pulled the boat out of the sandbar.

As you can see in the picture above, we had to get a little wet.

John finished in first place on Saturday in the Men's A Quarters with a score of 75.33.

On Sunday, Zdeblick came in second place to Corey Bernier from Jefferson State University with a score of 64.67.

Check out the rest of the results from the event.
