USA Wakeboarding Collegiate Competition Coming to Red River

The region’s best colleigiate wakeboarders will be in Shreveport Bossier this weekend when the 2012 USA Wakeboard South Central Regionals launch on the Red River Saturday and Sunday. The competition will take place out of Riverview Park. It’s part of the Louisiana Collegiate Wake Tour and will feature teams from LSU, Louisiana Tech, UL-Monroe, UL-Lafayette, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Texas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Haughton High School 17 year old Trevor Duncan has qualified to compete for the ULM team by taking a course at the Monroe campus.

The collegiate portion of the competition is expected to last until 3pm followed by an open competition.

Viewing is free to the public and will have spectator friendly activities.

The president of USA Wakeboard, John Zdeblik, says, "this is shaping up to be the largest regionals in the history of collegiate wakeboarding."
