LSU came from behind to beat the Green Wave Wednesday night in Alex Box Stadium. Tulane (20-21) had a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning, before the Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth... eventually winning 4-3.

LSU has now won 25 straight against in-state opponents.  The Tigers have also won 32 straight mid-week games, dating back to April 2011.

Coach Paul Mainieri said, “Those are streaks that we’re very proud of.  That means that no matter the circumstances, our players give their best every time they put on an LSU uniform. We’ve had a lot of tough games during those streaks, and it’s a tribute to the determination of our players that we’ve maintained them for so long.”

LSU took the lead scoring three runs in the sixth inning off a wild pitch and a two RBI single from Raph Rhymes.

Byrd grad and LSU Senior Chris Cotton picked up his ninth save shutting out the Wave in the ninth.

Kurt McCune got the start and was the first of nine LSU pitchers.  Kevin Berry got his third win of the year, coming on in the fifth and striking out two in two innings.

LSU has a three game homestand against South Carolina starting on Friday.
