Deadpool, Crow, and X-Men Comic Book Artists Coming To Geek’d Con
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center. The event has hosted tons of celebrities over the last 9 years from all types of entertainment. From movie stars to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, with viral internet celebrities and professional wrestlers mixed in as well.
Geek'd Con has become one of the biggest pop culture events in the entire state of Louisiana. Drawing fans and vendors from every corner of the United States, and creating millions of dollars in economic impact for the Shreveport and Bossier City area.
One of the staples of the event is the comic book talent that comes to Shreveport for the show. Over the years, a handful of comic book artists and illustrators have become fan-favorites in the Shreveport area. Their regular appearances have allowed local fans to see them every year, and to get more and more custom artwork from their favorites.
This year, a trio of those fan favorite artist will be returning to Shreveport for Geek'd Con, including Roland Paris.
You can find Roland's art on the cover and in the pages of the biggest names in comic books.
He's done cover artwork for characters like Spider-Man, The Avengers, and even the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe!
His artwork can be found in books like Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Spider-Girl, X-Men, Black Panther, Daredevil, and a ton more!
Also appearing at Geek'd Con is John Lucas.
Lucas has worked on over a dozen comic books featuring everyone's favorite Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool. Including books under the titles Deadpool, Uncanny X-Force, and Wolverine.
Beyond Deadpool, you can find John Lucas' work on the pages of some of comics biggest names. He's also worked on books like Batman, The Punisher, X-Men, Superman, Daredevil, The Fantastic Four, and more!
Some of his cover art can be found on The Crow, Negative Burn, and Kiss comics.
Lucas worked on the entire run of Marvel's Civil War: Front Line as well.
Rounding out the group of fan-favorites is horror and rock illustrator Brian Steward.
Steward is an artist, writer, and photographer who's work has been featured in Fangoria, Kiss: The Official Magazine, Scream: The Horror Magazine, Gorezone, and Heavy Metal.
He is also a force with Fantasm Media, where you can find incredible work featuring KISS, George A. Romero, Sid Haig, and more.
With Heavy Metal magazine, he worked as lead book designer and contributing illustrator. He was also lead designer on Malibu Bay Films' DVD catalog.
Brian has also been responsible for some of the best custom art prints in Geek'd Con history. Including his classic Alice Cooper print from 2021.
