Halo’s Master Chief Is Coming To Shreveport For Geek’d Con
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back this August. The dates are August 16-18 at the Shreveport Convention Center. The event usually draws thousands of fans from around the country to meet and greet their favorite stars from movies, TV, and video games.
Geek'd Con has become one of the biggest pop culture events in the entire state of Louisiana. Drawing fans and vendors from every corner of the United States, and creating millions of dollars in economic impact for the Shreveport and Bossier City area.
This year's event will feature one of the most iconic voices in the world of video games. The voice behind the Halo franchise's Master Chief, Steve Downes.
Downes is best known as the voice of Master Chief from the Halo video game franchise. He even voiced Master Chief outside of Halo, in Super Bomberman R in 2017.
Back in 2001, Downes debuted as Master Chief in the initial X-Box launch-title Halo: Combat Evolved.
The success of that first game led to a second, Halo 2, that was released in 2004. From there the franchise continued its explosive growth, and Downes was along for the ride.
Downes has voiced Master Chief in every video game appearance in the franchise.
Outside of Halo, Steve voiced Star-Lord in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes on Disney XD.
