Each year, during Operation Santa Claus, we deliver toys to children in some of the local hospitals. We call it the "Barney Cannon Smile Run" because Barney always said, "you're never fully dressed unless you're wearing a big ol' smile". And Barney always wore a big ol' smile.

Thanks for joining KWKH and me this morning at the Operation Santa Claus remote at the Brookshires at the corner of Mansfield Road and Bert Kouns. According to Shreveport Fire Inspector Jeff Williams, we collected cash donations of about $1,500 not to mention a van load of new toys for local less fortunate children in Shreveport/Bossier.

Barney was my best friend and I know if he was still here today, he would ask you to give one new, unwrapped toy for Operation Santa Claus. Barney loved seeing our hallways here at KWKH become filled with toys for children who otherwise wouldn't have anything for Christmas.
