KWKH is out on location this morning with another Operation Santa Claus remote. This morning we'll be at Geauxsicles Ice Cream Parlor at the corner of Youree and Ockley in Shreveport from 7 til 9.  Come let us put you in the Christmas spirit this cold morning if you're not already in the mood for this gift-giving season.

Right now, we're behind in donations mainly because there are more needy children this year.  Shreveport Fire Inspector Jeff  Williams says we have 1,000 kids in Shreveport/Bossier, who are disadvantaged and won't be able to celebrate with toys this year unless we spring into action.

Operation Santa Claus has been a charitable project every Christmas since 1984, held in conjunction with Shreveport Police and Fire, as well as Bossier and Caddo Sheriff's departments and originating on the Home of the Legends, AM 1130, KWKH.   Now,  all 6 Townsquare Media radio stations are a major part of this gigantic toy drive for local less fortunate children here.

A couple thousand dollars was donated at our last remote and that translates into Christmas for nearly 70 children.  It takes about $35 to take care of Christmas for one child, according to Williams.

So, dig deep and help us out today with monetary donations, or bring by a new unwrapped toy and we'll make sure it winds up  at the home of a needy child and brings that glow and smile to that young one's face.
