Operation Santa Claus

Christmas time is just a little  more special for kids than it is for grownups like me.  After all, they have to work harder for for a visit from santa. They have to do homework,  take a bath every night, eat all the food on their plate (including spinish), and that's just to mention a few things they have to do to get on Santa's "good" list.

Operation Santa Claus was the proud recipient this morning  of more than $2,000 in cash donations to buy Christmas for disadvantaged children here in Shreveport Bossier.

It was my first ever Operation Santa Claus remote and I thank you so much for coming by and dropping off new unwrapped toys and monetary donations for needy children in Shreveport-Bossier.  Your generosity was almost overwhelming.

Operation Santa Claus kicked off at 10 o'clock this morning at Townsquare Media at 6341  Westport Ave. in Shreveport.  It's a combined effort between the Shreveport Fire Department, the Shreveport Police Department, Bossier Sheriff's Department and Townsquare Media's six radio stations.

The Christmas Season officially began this morning at 10:00 AM sharp. Just as the big guy has done for the last 27 years, Ol' Santa will arrived on the big red fire engine from the Shreveport Fire Department to get Operation Santa Claus under way!
