Top Ranked LSU Baseball Team Does Away with Southern: Win 11-2

The top ranked LSU baseball team got win number 31 on the season last night, routing Southern 11-2 in the Wally Pontiff Classic.  LSU scored five runs in the first inning for the second straight game. 

First baseman Mason Katz went 2 for 3 and knocked in his SEC leading 56 and 57th RBIs. 

Junior Kurt McCune made his debut returning from  back injury to pick up the win allowing two runs in three innings work. 

LSU has won 13 in a row and 22 straight against Louisiana schools.  The Tigers play Southern again tonight, pregame coverage starts at 6:30 on the Tiger.
