LSU's Fighting Tigers played white vs. purple in the 2021 spring game over the weekend and we're hopeful for this fall's season!

Of course, things looked different at Tiger Stadium Saturday in Baton Rouge, but that was to be expected thanks to COVID-19. However, the Tigers were looking good and that's giving us a lot of hope for this fall's football season.

My friend Emerie Gentry went to the game Saturday, followed by a trip to Alex Box Stadium to see the LSU baseball team play. I asked her to take lots of pictures for me and she sure delivered! Thank you Emerie and thank you even more for your takeaways from the game.

1. LSU has four options at quarterback. The standout was Max Johnson even though Miles Brennan received the most playing time last season. TJ Finley had a good arm but had a bad day and Garrett Nussmeier had a good arm, just needs more reps!

2. Emerie says she wasn't sure if the offense wasn't playing well, or if the defense was just that good.

3. Emerie reports that the kickers look good and really enjoyed the trick play!

All in all, Emerie and her boyfriend agree that it was great to be back in Tiger Stadium even minus the normal festivities surrounding the game. While the Tiger band was in the stands, unlike Grambling or Southern's at the Bayou Classic Saturday at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, there was no band before the game or food trucks and only one tent for season ticket holders. While they did have the Couyon's Tiger One Village, the only ones set up were Cox.

Let's hope we're back to full capacity for games this fall and geaux Tigers!
