The Shreveport Mudbugs just won the North American Hockey League last week, and the Robertson Cup hasn't even been in Shreveport for 7 days yet. But that's not stopping them from preparing for next season. Which is probably because it's going to be here pretty quick.

This will be the Shreveport Mudbugs 20th anniversary season, so it's going to be big.

Now a 20th anniversary might not sound right for the Mudbugs. After all, they were founded in 1997. So how do we get to 20? It's actually going to be the 20th season the team will play. The Mudbugs paused operations after the 2010-2011, right after winning the CHL and the President's Cup.

The team returned to the team returned in the North American Hockey League in 2016. So when you combine the current Mudbugs NAHL seasons with the previous WPHL and CHL seasons, this will be their 20th season.
