UPDATE:

The suspect in a double murder in Shreveport allegedly killed himself in Harrison County Texas. He and the female victim had previously been in a relationship.

The Caddo Coroner has released the names of the victims:

The bodies of Tara Wren, 39, of Shreveport, and Eric Cox, 54, of Keithville, were found by Shreveport Police responding to the 3500 block of Junior Place just before 6 a.m. That is between North Maywood Drive and Parkwood Drive west of Interstate 220.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Detectives are investigating the shooting deaths of two people in west Shreveport.

Officers were called to a home on Junior Place just before 6:00 a.m. on Sunday. Officers found the bodies of a white male and female adult. Each victim was suffering at least a single gunshot wound.

Police found the woman outside the home, while the male victim was located inside the residence. The identities of the victims is being withheld until appropriate notification of next of kin can be made.

Based on preliminary findings, the shooting does not appear to be a random act and police suspect a person known to one or both victims may be responsible for the slayings. It is believed the shootings occurred at some point between late Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for this crime.
