WWE's "Big 4" pay-per-views are traditionally recognized at Wrestlemania, Survivor Series, the Royal Rumble, and Summer Slam. But if there was ever going to be another one to slide into the mix to make it a "Big 5", you'd probably have to make it Money In The Bank. At least, here's my argument:

Of the existing PPVs, Money In The Bank as been around the longest. Well, at least the concept has been. It debuted in 2005 as part of Wrestlemania, but it blossomed into a full blow PPV in 2010. So Extreme Rules is actually a year older (debuted in 2009) but because the MITB match started in 2005, it feels older. I'd argue it's more important too, with the majority of MITB match winners going on to win a WWE Title when they cash in.

So annually, it's a pretty important night, showcasing the top guys, while setting the tone for who the company views as "next". Which is why this year's is so important...with guys like Shinsuke Nakamura in the mix.

The 2017 MITB lineup feels really strong, mostly because history will be made.

This year will be the first time the women ever get to take part in the MITB match. There will be a briefcase and contract on the line for one of the female competitors to win, and execute the same way the men have. Whoever gets it will have a guaranteed shot at the title whenever they want. Which is going to be pretty damn exciting.

Here's the whole matchcard for the night (as of Friday night, there can always be changes):

  • Jinder Mahal (champ) vs. Randy Orton - Singles match for the WWE Championship
  • Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Shinsuke Nakamura - Money in the Bank ladder match for a WWE Championship match contract
  • The Usos (champs) vs. The New Day - Tag team match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship
  • Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya vs. Tamina vs. Carmella vs. rumored mystery opponent - Money in the Bank ladder match for a WWE SmackDown Women's Championship match contract
  • Naomi (champ) vs. Lana Singles - match for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship
  • The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder) vs. The Colóns (Primo and Epico) - Tag team match - Pre-show Match
