The LSU Tigers baseball team started a three game series against Washington on Friday, the Tigers last series before SEC play begins. LSU got six perfect innings from starting pitcher Aaron Nola and went on to win Game 1, 9-4!

Aaron Nola retired the first 18 batters he faced and the Fightin' Tigers collected 13 hits.  Nola picked up the victory allowing four runs in 6.1 innings.  No Huskie batters reached base until the seventh inning.

Raph Rhymes, the reigning SEC player of the year, went 3 for 5... extending his hit streak to 12 games.

Reliever Chris Cotton notched his fourth save of the season after entering the ninth inning with the bases loaded and retiring three straight batters to get out of the jam.

Game 2 between LSU and Washington is Saturday at 7pm.  Game 3 is Sunday at 1pm.
