The city of Ruston, and the Louisiana Tech campus, suffered major damage overnight due to a storm that likely produced at least one tornado. As of this morning, the damage is still being survey.

One of the hardest hit locations in the Ruston area was the Louisiana Tech campus, and primarily their sports complexes. The Louisiana Tech baseball field, softball field, tennis courts, and soccer complex have all been destroyed.

Amazingly, there is student housing just beyond the outfield of the Louisiana Tech baseball field, and they appear to be untouched.

The city will be working to clean up the damage not just on the campus, but across the city as well. Homes and businesses across the Ruston area were damaged and destroyed too. Roads through the city remain closed this morning as well.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards will be traveling to Ruston today, and Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is already assisting in the response.
