Local NFL Rookie To Miss Significant Time Due to Injury
This is sad news coming out of the NFL today. Local star and Kansas City Chief cornerback, L'Jarius Sneed will miss significant time after Monday night's game against the Ravens. The Minden native and former LA Tech stand out landed awkwardly while breaking up a pass Monday night and was seen holding his shoulder in pain. Well, according to reports today, Sneed is expected to miss at least 6 weeks with a broken collarbone.
This is a devastating blow to both Sneed and the Chiefs. The Chiefs are thin at cornerback as is with several players injured or serving suspensions. Plus, Sneed has exceeded ALL expectations. The 4th round draft pick has been playing stellar D, has two interceptions in the first two games and was widely considered an early front runner for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
While it's all but certain Sneed won't be bringing home that particular hardware at the end of the season. Hopefully, he can make a quick and speedy recovery and help the Chiefs on their journey to win back to back Super Bowls.
