3 LSU Players Make PFF's Top 50 List For 2026 College Football

The 2026 LSU Tigers football season is approaching, and the season is coming in hot with with high expectations. Head Coach Brian Kelly is out, and the Lane Train has pulled into BR.

New coach Lane Kiffin leads a squad heavily focused on offensive production into the season. The coaching staff utilized the transfer portal to address depth chart concerns on both sides of the ball. Giving the program less of a 'rebuilding' vibe, and more of a 'reloading' feeling.

As always, the Southeastern Conference schedule presents specific hurdles for the Baton Rouge program. But this year might be a little spicier for the Tigers, since LSU will have to play Ole Miss...with fresh wounds remaining from Lane Kiffin making the change between the programs.

LSU Players Ranked In PFF Top 50

Some of the talent brought in to help Lane make a splash in year one is catching some national attention too.

Pro Football Focus released its Top 50 Players List ahead of the 2026 college football season. Three LSU players secured spots on this national ranking sheet. Evaluators base these ratings on advanced metrics and historical production data.

Leading the way is transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt. Colorado-transfer offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is also on the list, and tight end Trey'Dez Green wraps up the trio. Leavitt comes in at #41, Seaton is at #43, and Green barely cracks the list at #49.

These three offensive players, and their potential to fuel the team's offense this year, have been recognized by the publication. These athletes serve as foundational pieces for Tigers scoring attack.

Especially Leavitt...who comes to Baton Rouge as the top player in this year's transfer portal. While he is dealing with some lingering injury concerns, it appears he will be ready to roll this year, and is the main focus of the Tiger's plan.

LSU fans are on their normal path of unhinged expectation this preseason. Even though they have a new coaching staff, and a total offensive overhaul, fans only expect a College Football Playoff appearance during the 2026 campaign. The presence of three top 50 players fuels discussions about National Championship capabilities. The fan base tracks recruiting progress and player development metrics throughout the calendar year like its their job, so none of these rankings are probably shocking to them.
