On this Bowl Selection Sunday, we have seen excitement, disappointment, and signs of flat-out robbery for teams going bowling.

Something many Shreveporters have long waited for, is the Independence Bowl. Now we know who will take place in the 2012 rendition of the event.

It has been a crazy Sunday to say the least. We have seen the best and perhaps the worst selections we could imagine. One of the head scratching moments we witnessed today is the non-invite of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to any bowl.

Another announcement that came a few moments ago, is the announcement that the ULM Warhawks will take the gridiron against the Ohio Bobcats in the 2012 Advocare V100 Independence Bowl.

The extended invitation to Ohio came on the heels of Louisiana Tech rejecting an offer to play against the ULM Warhawks. As a result, Tech will be sitting at home this bowl season.

It will be an exciting match-up for two teams that arrived to this point after both having stellar seasons.

For the Warhawks, they immediately gained national attention after shocking the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road 34-31 in overtime. The 'Hawks finished the season with an 8-4 overall record (6-2 in the Sun Belt Conference). This is ULM's first ever bowl appearance.

For the Ohio Bobcats, the started the season with a 7-0 record, but ended the season on a skid having lost four of their last five games. At one point in the season, the Bobcats were ranked 25th in the Associated Press national polls.
