Before the season started players, coaches and fans of the LSU Tigers hoped to plot a revenge against the Alabama Crimson Tide after their stunning loss in the BCS Championship Game on their de facto "home turf" in New Orleans.

With the long, enduring football season, things did not turn out as Tiger faithful expected. LSU finished with a 10-2 record (6-2 SEC).

The LSU Tigers were chomped by the Florida Gators 14-6 in Gainsville and rolled by the Alabama Crimson Tide 21-17, on a last minute touchdown at home.

Simply put, the Tigers were not the best team in the SEC, and in the country for that matter as many projected.

Despite the losses, LSU posted another impressive 10 win season. But, it was not enough.

For their efforts, they have earned a spot in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl against the Clemson Tigers.

Clemson is perhaps in the same situation as LSU. Many projected a possible BCS appearance for the Tigers from South Carolina as well. Clemson also finished 10-2, with crushing losses to ACC rival Florida State, and in-state rival, South Carolina.

The Chick-Fil-A Bowl will be played on New Year's Eve. You can hear on the action on "Your Home For LSU Sports" 1130 The Tiger
