Some are saying that the LSU Tigers aren't getting the recognition they deserve this year and I agree. When you take a close look at the numbers, LSU is doing better this year than last year.

Some people thought the Tigers could write the season off because Tyrann Mathieu wouldn't be on the team this year. That turned out to be a crock didn't it?

According to SEC Sports, LSU sits among the nation’s top-10 for the 22nd consecutive week and has outscored its opponents this season 157-41 (+116).

Opponents are only scoring an average of 10.2 points per game, and not one single team has rushed for 100 yards against LSU this season. The SEC believes that LSU may be poised for another BCS run.

Some have said that LSU doesn't have an impressive resume this season. Well think about this. In their second game, LSU played Washington, a 2011 bowl team, and beat them 41-3 while gathering 437 yards of total offense.

After playing Towson this Saturday, all of LSU's remaining games are conference games. So if they continue playing has they have this will be very impressive.

Sure, some people might think LSU don't have championship numbers this year, but if we look a little closer at the statistics maybe they will see the light.

Here is the SEC Sports comparison of this year and last year of 4 games:

Scoring (2011): 155
Scoring (2012): 157
