George Strait hasn’t been writing and releasing music since he was born, but if he had, and he had one No.1 hit every year of his life, he would be right where he is now. The 59-year-old country king is celebrating his astounding 59th No. 1 hit with ‘Love’s Gonna Make It Alright’ from his September 2011 Grammy-nominated record, ‘Here for a Good Time.’

George Strait has opened up about life as a grandfather — and about the new little boy’s name. In an interview with Country Countdown USA‘s Lon Helton, Strait confirmed rumors that the family name would be carried on for decades to come.

Strait’s brand new album, ‘Here for a Good Time,’ debuted at the top of the Billboard country charts this week, going past Jason Aldean and Jake Owen with more than 91,000 records sold.

George Harvey Strait, born May 18, 1952, is an American country music singer, actor, and music producer. Strait is referred to as the "King of Country," and critics call Strait a living legend.

George Strait has learned that his son Bubba Strait and wife Tamara will soon be having a baby boy. That means the George’s first grandchild will be the new grand-prince of country music on delivery day this coming February.

With a new album set to hit stores early next week, George Strait is making plans to hit the road. Strait announced on Wednesday that he’ll begin touring in January 2012 but didn’t divulge specific cities or dates. He did reveal, however, that Martina McBride had agreed to open up for him...

Early next year George Strait will become a first-time grandfather. According to ABC News, Strait’s son Bubba and wife Tamara will have their first child in February of 2012. Bubba Strait is a frequent co-writer with his father and songwriter Dean Dillon. They contributing seven songs to George Strait’s upcoming ‘Here for a Good Time’ album.

For George Strait, September will be quite a month.  Along with his new album, ‘Here For a Good Time,’ George will release ‘George Strait – Icon,’ a greatest hits CD. It will feature 11 of his most famous songs. It will be available on September 13, will include nine No. 1 hits plus two of his other best known songs.

George Strait has already released nearly 40 albums — and scored more number one hits than any other artist, in any genre, ever — and he isn’t slowing down yet. The country legend has set September 6 as the date for his next release, titled ‘Here for a Good Time,’ announced the 11-song track listing, and opened up pre-orders for fans.
