KWKH listener Cindy Williams emailed me a  color photo of Elvis at the Louisiana Hayride.  In her email,  Cindy says,  "My Mom bought a large framed picture at a garage sale and behind the picture, inside the frame were hidden - two (2) identical color photographs of Elvis Presley.

My dear Mom passed away on Jan. 9, 2012 and left my brother and I these two photos.  Notice: No Lucky Strike Banner, Drummer in picture and not behind a curtain, crowd, and KWKH on Microphone. Please feel free to contact me. I'm trying to find out more about the photograph, like date."

James Roy writes back to Cindy with this explanation of her picture.

"Hi Cindy,
the picture is very small but not too small to see that its not Elvis, Scotty, Bill or DJ, and definitely not the Hayride or likely the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport.  It does appear to be the orginal Hayride banner though owned by Joey Kent.  My guess it was used for some reenactment, or film.
Sorry.
Jim

Cindy,  Elvis appeared on the radio show on Oct. 16th, 1954 and the televised show in 1955.  Here's a YouTube video from the Louisiana Hayride showing pictures and sound that aired on the Home of the Legends, am 1130, KWKH.
