New York Against New York? Giants or Jets?

This is a really nasty rivalry. The New York Giants and the New York Jets. And they play against each other today and you can hear all the action on your home for NFL football, AM 1130, KWKH.

All week long,  fans of both team have been trash talking each other.  It's about as big a rivalry as LSU against Bama.  But today's game decides which New York team makes it into the playoffs.

A loss for the Giants will end their season.   If the Jets lose, they'll lose bragging rights.   This Christmas Eve game is for all the marbles.  When it's over,  one team will have a Merry Christmas and the other will have coal in their stockings.

Eli Manning and his passing offense  have been dominating for the Giants, except for two games against the Washington Redskins.

New York Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez is a top 10 quarterback, but he's been missing some important pass protection from the Jets offensive line.  He's quite capable of getting the job done when he has to.

I look for this to be a close game, but I'm putting my money on the Giants in hopes that Manning has a good game.

Back in the Joe Namath days, though, I would have been  hands down for the Jets.   I still kind of miss "Broadway Joe."

I hope the Giants pull this one out, since the consequences could be severe. They've been beaten five out of six weeks, they've been completely disregarded and disrespected as a defensive unit by the Jets this week, and their season and coach's job could both unfortunately be in jeopardy if they lose this game.
