Today's match up against West Virginia is the No. 2 Tigers' fourth game of the season.
Shepard was a starter, but became ineligible after being suspended before the Purple and Gold's opener against the (quack...quack..) Oregon Ducks.
He was in trouble for breaking an NCAA rule that bars discussing ongoing investigations with teammates.

The investigation had to do with concerns over the relationship between scouting service provider and agent Willie Lyles had with LSU and a number of other schools.
Shepard was asked questions as part of the probe, and then spoke about the interview with a teammate. The teammate was in line to meet with investigators about that same issue.

LSU tried to have Shepard reinstatement soon after he was suspended, but it wasn't known how many games he would have to miss until the NCAA decided last week on the length of his ineligibility.

Shepard was allowed to practice while suspended, and Coach Les Miles has mentioned that Shepard was one of LSU's top performing receivers in preseason scrimmages.

Shepard started nine games last season. He demonstrated the speed and ability to be a big-play threat as a runner or receiver.

His stats? He finished 2010 with 226 yards and two touchdowns rushing and 254 yards and one touchdown receiving. His scoring plays included a 50-yard run against North Carolina and a 30-yarder against Vanderbilt.
