LSU Run-Rules Mississippi State in SEC Tournament Payback

When two teams match up for 17 innings early in a tournament, they're not going to want to spend another 9 inning together on the field. LSU Baseball cut their second game of the week with Mississippi State short, as they run-ruled the Bulldogs in 7 innings, 12-2.

Earlier this week, the two teams matched up for a 17 inning marathon, that lasted for over 7 hours, and didn't end until the middle of the night. So for the Tigers to end the game a little early was pretty important. Saving arms was a top priority.

LSU only used three pitchers, Clay Moffitt started the game, before Aaron George and Chase Costello came in for a minimum of 2 innings each.

The Tigers bats exploded for all of their runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. Drew Bianco, Zach Watson, and Chris Reid all led the way with 2 RBIs each for LSU.

In the semifinals, LSU will now face Vanderbilt, with an estimated first pitch at 4:30pm. You'll be able to hear the game in Shreveport and Bossier City on 1130AM, 1130 The Tiger.
