LSU Board Approves Name Change to Alex Box Stadium

Alex Box Stadium will undergo a name change… kinda. Today, the LSU Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a proposal from the LSU Athletic Department to name the field after legendary baseball coach Skip Bertman.

The field will be called Skip Bertman Field at Alex Box Stadium.  I'm betting that "Bertman at the Box" will become the preferred nomenclature for Tiger fans.

The dedication will be held the final weekend of the regular season (May 16-18) when LSU hosts Ole Miss. Bertman led the Tigers to five national championships before moving on to serve as Athletic Director from 2001 to 2008.
