LSU Basketball Over Mississippi St.; LSU Baseball over SLU

LSU got two wins on Wednesday, one on the hardcourt and one on the diamond. The LSU men’s basketball team jumped out to a 14-0 lead against Mississippi State on Wednesday and held on for a 92-81 win.

It was the most points the Tigers have scored in an SEC win this season.

Jarell Martin put up 20 points, while Jordan Mickey added 19.

LSU has their last six home contests. They’ll travel to take on Kentucky on Saturday.

The LSU baseball team went to Hammond on Wednesday and picked up their fourth win of the young season. It was also the Tigers 32 consecutive win against Louisiana schools.

Lefty Cody Glenn started and gave up only one earned run in five innings pitched. Glenn only needed 71 pitches to get through five innings, four Tiger relievers combined to finish the game.

LSU put together a four run sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and eventually win 7-3. Each time the Lions scored to take the lead or tie the game, the Tigers were able to immediately answer.

Second baseman Connor Hale had 3 hits, and right fielder Jared Foster had two RBI.

LSU (4-0) plays host to Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. Friday in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
