Louisiana Tech Baseball Destroys Southern Illinois-Edwardsville
It was a big day for college baseball across the state of Louisiana on Friday. LSU crushed Texas in Baton Rouge, and a few other Louisiana-based teams got after it in their own games. Most of which weren't even close, like the LSU and Texas game.
Here's some of the scores from teams across the state from the Louisiana Radio Network:
"Louisiana Tech thumped S-I-U Edwardsville 13-1. Chris Clayton drove in three runs.
ULM swept a doubleheader Northern Kentucky, and The ULL Ragin Cajuns lost to Wright State 8-2 in the first game in the completely renovated Tigue Moore Field."
At this early point in the season, it appears that the makeover Louisiana Tech's program went through might be paying off. The team traveled all the way to California to open the season with four games against Pepperdine, where they split the series. Their two loses were hard fought one run games, the first of which went into extras. Then they cruised by McNeese this week, before putting a hurt on Southern Illinois-Edwardsville last night.
It could be an exciting year of baseball in Ruston based on these early results.
