LA Tech Men and Women Ready for WAC Tournament

The Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments begin on Tuesday. Both head coaches, Mike White and Theresa Weatherspoon, will be watching their WAC counterparts as each of their squads earned byes in the tournament.

Each squad ended the regular season on sour notes.

The Bulldogs lost their final two WAC games after winning the first 16.  Still, the Tech men won their first ever WAC Championship based on a tie-breaker that came down to RPI ranking.

The Lady Techsters finished as the five seed in the women's bracket, good enough for a bye round.  But this is the programs first ever losing season, and the women may not be expected to do much in the WAC tournament after dismissing their best scorer and rebounder from the team.

The Tech men play on Thursday at 8pm.

The Lady Techsters play four seed UTSA on Wednesday at 8:30pm.
