Joe Burrow Named Walter Camp National Player of the Week
LSU senior quarterback Joe Burrow was magnificent in the Tigers win at Alabama, further cementing himself as the Heisman Trophy favorite.
He also could be in line for the "Walter Camp" National Player of the Year award, as Burrow is this week's Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week.
Burrow had 457 total yards of offense (third-highest in school history), leading LSU to a victory 8 years in the making.
The 6'4 senior from Athens, Ohio made the play anytime the team had to have it.
"It's what he's done since he's gotten here," said LSU coach Ed Orgeron of Burrow's performance. "He's a leader and a big time player."
In 84 games versus Alabama in school history, LSU had never put up the offensive numbers Burrow led them to on Saturday, as the Tiger offense accounted for 559 yards and scored 46 points.
