Drew Brees heads into the New Orleans Saints' Monday Night Football match up against Washington just 201 yards shy of the NFL's all-time passing yards record.

Brees, who is easily considered the greatest Saint of all time, has 71,740 career passing yards. Almost all of that has come in a Saints jersey, but about 12,000 of those yards came while Brees was a member of the San Diego Chargers early in his career.

The current record holder happens to be Peyton Manning, and if Brees breaks the record in New Orleans, it will be in Manning's hometown, which creates an interesting story line to add with everything else going on.

Brees already holds several other Saints career records, and the NFL record for passing percentage in a season, but this is the big one, a record that’s been held by QBs like Manning, Brett Farve, and Dan Marino.

Brees is still about 200 yards away from the record, which isn't exactly easy to hit for an NFL quarterback. Brees might have a tough time getting the record against Washington's defense, who's allowing only 187 passing yards a game on average this year.
