Toms will join fellow Shreveporter Hal Sutton in the honor.  Hal was inducted in 1998.

Toms commented,

I am honored to be selected into the Gulf States PGA Hall of Fame.  To me, receiving this honor just affirms what I have been trying to do for over the past 20 years; respect the game of golf, treat people the way I want to be treated and realize that hard work pays off. The game of golf is a sport unlike any other where integrity and character are expected and where professionalism and respect are part of the tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.
