A member of the New Orleans Saints is in trouble with the law.

Onyemata is the second Saints player to be accused of breaking the law since the team's elimination in the NFC Championship Game in New Orleans on January 20, joining corner P.J. Williams, who was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Misdemeanor marijuana possession convictions can result in short jail sentences and fines of $300 to $500.

League discipline for marijuana possession varies, though a positive drug test typically results in a four-game suspension.

The 26-year old Oneymata, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, was drafted by the Saints in the 4th round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

In 2018, Onyemata totaled 35 tackles, including 4.5 sacks, while playing in all 16 games.
