Captain Marvel Movie to Finish Shooting in Louisiana
If you haven't been swept up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or MCU) then where have you been? For the last decade, Iron Man and company have been ravaging the box office with a vast universe made from the stories we grew up reading in comic books. 19 movies have combined together to form a franchise juggernaut that rivals, or straight up trounces, all challengers - and there are 13 more in various stages of production. It's safe to say the Marvel name will continue to rule the box office for a while to come. The next chapter of this gigantic, continuing story arc is Captain Marvel. I tell you this because, Captain Marvel is coming to Louisiana sometime in the next two weeks.
It's no secret that the current crop of Avengers and "Senior" superheros like Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and more have expressed a desire to exit the franchise in order to pursue other projects. That would leave leadership of this huge story line to folks like Starlord (Chris Pratt) and newcomer Brie Larson (Captain Marvel). The Captain Marvel movie, currently in production, will tell the story of Carol Danvers - but I won't spoil it for you. She (and this movie) is huge in terms of where Marvel wants the next 10 years of stories to go. According to CBR.com, filming will wrap in 2 weeks and production is coming to the Bayou State.
Co-director Ryan Fleck made a post on Instagram yesterday spilling the beans. No official word on exactly where in Louisiana they are setting up.
