The Byrd Yellow Jackets and Captain Shreve Gators continue their big rivalry weekend on the diamond this weekend.

The Yellow Jackets (15-17, 9-5 District 1-5A) who currently hold the last playoff spot in the LHSAA state baseball standings at No. 32, suffered a crushing 8-4 loss last night to their crosstown rival Captain Shreve Gators (23-9, 13-1 District 1-5A).

This afternoon was a different story, as the Jackets were able to give the Gators their first loss in District 1-5A this season, with a 9-4 victory over Captain Shreve at The Swamp.

The two teams continue their battle Monday night at 6 p.m. at The Hive.
