Scoop there it is...the newly minted viral sensation Tag Team is coming to Shreveport.

OK, no disrespect meant there. Tag Team are Platinum selling artists who had one of the biggest songs of the 1990s with "Whoomp! (There It Is)". The song may have only spent one week at #1, but it was the second highest selling song of 1993, and set plenty of records. By the time the decade closed, it had become one of the most recognized songs of a generation.

With all that said, their recent Geico commercial featuring a parody version call "Scoop! (There It Is)" has started a small career resurgence with its viral success. The YouTube commercial has been viewed over one and a half million times.

Now Tag Team is bringing that success to Shreveport for the 2021 Spring version of the State Fair of Louisiana.

Tag Team will join a big list of talent for what the State Fair is calling "Ol' Skool 90's Hip Hop Night" on Saturday, May 8th. Joining Tag Team on the 8th with be Money B & Young Hump of Digital Underground, Jabber Jaws, and headliner Tone Loc.

Tone Loc has sold millions of albums in his career. He went double Platinum with his debut album Lōc-ed After Dark in 1989, an album that had two Platinum selling singles. The songs "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" both went Platinum, without actually reaching #1 on the chart.

In addition to his music career, Tone Loc got into acting in the 1990s. He appeared in The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, Poetic Justice, Ace Ventura, Heat, and lent his voice to FernGully The Last Rainforest, Bebe's Kids, and as the lead in Fox Kids' C-Bear and Jamal.
