The State Fair of Louisiana is jam packed with entertainment this weekend, it's Navy Week in Shreveport/Bossier City and that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to stuff to do this weekend in the Ark-La-Tex!
The State Fair of Louisiana is jam packed with entertainment this weekend including appearances by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard Drill Team Friday and Saturday as a part of Navy Week here in Shreveport/Bossier, the LRCA Rodeo Finals Friday and Saturday and performances by Ole Whiskey Revival and Cody Cooke and the Bayou Outlaws Friday, followed by Kyper, the 69 Boyz and the Ying Yang Twins on Saturday. Combine all that with the excitement of the midway, Circus Hollywood, the Hollywood Racing Pigs, the State Fair Zoo, the livestock show and more and you have one heck of a great place to take the family for the weekend!
In addition to appearances at the State Fair of Louisiana and the Shreveport Farmers Market this week, you can celebrate Navy Week in Shreveport/Bossier with performances by the Navy Band with a concert at Riverview Park Saturday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 3pm!
See the one and only Grammy nominated country artist Martina McBride Saturday at 8pm for a 21+ show at Margaritaville Resort Casino's Paradise Theater. Tickets start at $65 for this once in a life time chance to see intimate performances of Wild Horses, Independence Day, This One's for the Girls and more!
This Saturday is the second week of the fall installation of the Shreveport Farmers Market in Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport. The event runs 8am until 12pm and this Saturday will feature a special performance by the US Navy Band Southeast from 9-11am as a part of Navy Week! Shreveport is one of 14 cities to get this special treatment. Their Deckplate Brass Ensemble promises jazz and funk and should be a treat to listen to while you shop!
This Saturday morning, head to the Deaf Action Center at 601 Jordan Street in Shreveport for the All Hands 5K in support of the Deaf Action Center. The race starts at 8am and race day sign up is $30, $25 in advance. Make sure you stick around afterwards for the post race party for awards, food, kids activities, raffles and a silent auction!
