Are you as excited as I am that the Texas Rangers have found themselves back in the World Series again?  The question is:  Can a hot weather team (the Rangers have been playing in 100 and hotter degree heat for most of the summer in Texas)  play well in the cooler temps in St. Louis?

I've read forecasts calling for highs in the 30s to low 40s at game time.

I guess you could turn that question around and ask if the St.  Louis Cardinals can take the heat in Texas when the series moves to Arlington?

Sports reporters say the cooler temperatures will likely mean relievers have to warm up earlier than they usually would, and stay active throughout the game.

I didn't know that trainers actually rub the baseballs to make them warmer to enhance the pitcher's ability to throw accurately.

It looks like the Rangers will go with the same lineup.  Manager Ron Washington has said he doesn't want to fix something that's not broken.

So look for Nelson Cruz to continue batting seventh.  That's two places ahead of the pitcher's spot.

Nevertheless,  Washington says the lineup is strong, and he's not too worried about how the Cardinals will handle it.

Pitcher Colby Lewis is among  those taking batting practice right now.

"It's a lot of fun," Lewis said. "It's part of the game, although I don't care too much for the running aspect of it."

I think it's cool that the Rangers have an infielder named Elvis ( Elvis Andrus).   We're really gonna need Elvis to be the King in this series against the Cardinals.

Will St.  Louis come from behind and shock everyone like they did when they took out the Phillies with a 1-0 win in that important Game 5.  Chris Carpenter tossed a three-hit shutout to win over Roy Halladay.

I'm hoping they've lost their momentum and the Rangers keep theirs the size of  the State of Texas.  I know Rangers fans have it!

First pitch is Wednesday at 7:05 pm at Busch Stadium.
