Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to downtown Shreveport this August. But this year the event won't be alone. The same weekend, inside the same building (the Shreveport Convention Center), there will be a brand new event side-by-side with Geek'd Con.

August 16th, 17th, and 18th, both Geek'd Con and the Shreveport Sports Card Expo will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center.

There isn't an extra ticket to purchase, you can get into the Sports Card Expo with your Geek'd Con ticket.

That means 1 ticket gets you 2 shows, over 3 days!

The Shreveport Sports Card Expo will take place at Geek'd Con, inside the Captain Shreve Ballroom. The whole ballroom will be filled with sports card dealers, sports memorabilia, and card collecting supplies. Not just that, but there will be sports legends on hand to sign autographs all weekend.

One of those legends will be Pro Football Hall of Fame member, former Louisiana Tech Bulldog and New Orleans Saint, Willie Roaf!

Roaf played offensive tackle at Louisiana Tech, where he was named a Consensus All-American in 1992. The following year, the New Orleans Saints made him a First Round NFL Draft Pick when they took him with the 8th overall pick in the 1993 NFL Draft. He made the All-Rookie Team in his first year with the Saints.

During his Saints career, Roaf would become one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL. He made the Pro Bowl every year between 1994 and 2000. He would go on to make 4 more Pro Bowl teams as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. For a total of 11 Pro Bowls.

Roaf was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-1990s and All-2000s. He was also named to 4 All Pro First Teams, and 5 All Pro Second Teams.

After his career, Roaf was named to the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame, Ring of Honor, College Football Hall of Fame, and Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Since its start, Geek'd Con has been one of the premiere comic con style events in the state of Louisiana. The event has generated millions of dollars in economic impact to the Shreveport and Bossier City area. This will be the 9th show in Geek'd Con history, starting in 2015, and only missing 2020 due to the pandemic.

With the addition of a secondary event, this could mean an even bigger economic impact for the Shreveport and Bossier City area.

Tickets are available right now.
