According to multiple reports, UL-Lafayette has fired Football Coach Mark Hudspeth.

The Ragin' Cajuns finished this season 5-7, and will miss a bowl game for only the second time since 2011. Hudspeth's ULL career ends with a 28-38 record, and a 21-19 record in the Sun Belt Conference.

Hudspeth was a popular figure around Lafayette, even when the team wasn't performing great. He even gained some national attention when he would go viral on the internet...

ULL joins a large number of Division 1 college football programs looking for new Head Coaches. Not that ULL would be a premium job in a year with less openings, it does push down the ULL job by comparison to other programs.

We don't know what the future holds for the Ragin' Cajuns, but we do know it will not involve Mark Hudspeth. ULL fans, and the Sun Belt, will all wait to see what comes next.
