Thursday night at East Ridge Country Club, Tim Fletcher was honored with the "Contribution to Amateur Football Award" for his contributions to amateur football in Northwest Louisiana.

The annual award, presented by the S.M. McNaughton Chapter of the National Football Foundation, is intended to provide recognition to an individual whose efforts and activities in support of the Foundation and its goals have been local in nature.

"For this country is marked with remarkable individuals who work tirelessly out of pure love for the game and a desire to help children play it well. This award seeks to recognize some of these noteworthy contributors."

A few past recipients of the Contribution to Amateur Football Award are Charlie Brown, Joe Ferguson, Eddie Robinson, Tony Sardisco, Doug Williams, Pat Collins, Tommy Henry, Elois Grooms, Don Shows and Greg Burke.

You can hear Fletch every morning 6a-9a on The Tim Fletcher Show on 1130 the Tiger.
