The NFL upheld the four-game suspension of New England Patriots star quarterback, Tom Brady.

Brady's original trouble with the league stemmed back to the playoff win over the Colts when it was discovered a handful of the Patriots balls had been deflated below league regulations.

NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, in keeping the original punishment in place, cited evidence that Brady had destroyed his cell phone to avoid turning it over to league investigators.

Without the phone and SIM card, the league could not delve into the 10,000 plus text messages Brady had sent, with several of those alleged exchanges with two team employees who took the air out of the footballs at Brady's direction.

The NFL Players Association, with Brady's consent, will appeal the case in Federal Court.
