Saints Sending a Record Seven Players to 2020 Pro Bowl

The 2019 NFL Pro Bowl rosters have been announced and the New Orleans Saints are extremely well represented. In fact, this is the first time in their franchise history in which they have had seven players selected to the initial roster and it's the most of any team in the NFC. The head had eight last year after alternates were added and seven in 2017 and 2009.

The players who were selected are as followed:

QB-Drew Brees (Backup)

WR-Michael Thomas (Starter)

LT-Terron Armstead (Backup)

K-Wil Lutz (Starter)

KR-Deonte Harris (Starter)

DE-Cameron Jordan (Starter)

CB-Marshon Lattimore (Starter)

Big time shout out to Deonte Harris who is just the 6th undrafted rookie to be selected to the Pro Bowl in the modern Pro Bowl era since 1967,  according to Elias Sports Bureau. He's been explosive this season as he leads the NFC with a 9.9 yards per punt return average, that includes a TD.

Drew Brees is in his 13th Pro Bowl and might be a bit of a surprise based on the fact he missed five and a half games but hey he did just set the all-time passing touchdown record.

Michael Thomas has now been selected to three straight Pro Bowls and is absolutely killing it this season. He leads the league in receiving yards (1,552) and receptions (133) he also has eight touchdowns.

After not making the Pro Bowl last season Marshon Lattimore returned to his exceptional form in 2019 as a shutdown corner.

Armstead was named a starter last season but this is his second Pro Bowl nob.

Wil Lutz will be making his first Pro Bowl appearance this season, he's attempted a league-high 35 field goals while making a league-leading 31 of those attempts.

Cameron Jordan has been a beast per usual this season, this is his fifth Pro Bowl selection in nine years and this is his third straight.

There are some glaring snubs, the most notable being LB Demario Davis, OT Ryan Ramczyk, and Taysom Hill as a special teamer.

Davis' stats may not jump off the page at you but if you watch this guy play you know he's a Pro Bowl caliber player.

Ramczyk has been arguably the Saints best OL and currently holds an 88.7 overall grade via Pro Football Focus which ranks second among all OT in the league.

Taysom Hill is just awesome and can do a lot of everything.

On the AFC side of things the Baltimore Ravens led the way with 12 players selected.
