LSU Outfielder Raph Rhymes' outstanding season has been recognized by SEC coaches as he was voted Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.  Rhymes led the NCAA with a .459 batting average entering post season play.

Mississippi State's Chris Stratton was voted pitcher of the year and Kentucky's Gary Henderson was given coach of the year honors.

Kentucky Wildcat outfielder Austin Cousino is the freshman of the year and South Carolina's Michael Roth is SEC baseball's scholar athlete of the year.

Results were released by the SEC Tuesday and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Florida led the way with three first-team all conference selections.  LSU was the only other team with multiple first-team honors.  LSU pitcher Kevin Gausman was selected along with Raph Rhymes.

LSU plays UL-Monroe Friday in the first game of  the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional post-season tournament.
