As we welcome 2025, the weather forecast is getting a lot of attention in Louisiana.

For the last few days, there has been a lot of talk on social media about a possible "polar vortex" bringing sub-freezing temperatures into the Shreveport and Bossier City areas. These forecasts are coming from legit forecasters, but they are very advanced forecasts. Often, forecasts don't even hold just 3 days out. So while its something to pay attention to, it doesn't mean we're guaranteed to see temps drop below freezing.

As we pointed out with the sub-freezing forecast, this possible severe weather is still far enough away that we can't guarantee it will produce severe weather in our area. But the ingredients are forming, and the recipe looks like it could produce a fresh round of severe weather on us.
